The imperative and אַל: קוּם! אַל תָּקוּם!
An order is the «you» form of the future with its ת removed: תָּקוּם becomes קוּם! «get up!», תָּבוֹא becomes בּוֹא! «come!», תָּשִׁיר becomes שִׁיר! «sing!». To a woman the ־ִי stays: קוּמִי! בּוֹאִי! To several people the ־וּ stays: קוּמוּ! בּוֹאוּ!
«Don’t» works differently: the future form stays whole, with אַל in front. אַל תָּקוּם! «don’t get up!», אַל תָּבוֹאִי! «don’t come!», אַל תָּרוּצוּ! «don’t run!». Never לֹא for an order: לֹא is for facts (הוּא לֹא בָּא, «he is not coming»), אַל is for orders. In everyday speech the future itself is often used as an order too: תָּבוֹא מָחָר!
