Pu’al: מְסֻפָּר, סֻפַּר, «is told»

Every pi’el verb has a passive twin: pu’al. Someone tells a story, מְסַפֵּר; the story is told, מְסֻפָּר. The shape is pi’el’s with the vowels u, a:

The present of pu’al is often just a description: הַחֶדֶר מְסֻדָּר «the room is tidy», הַשֻּׁלְחָן מְסֻדָּר «the table is set». That is why the book teaches present and past; the future exists (יְסֻדַּר) but is rare in speech.
