אֶל with endings: אֵלַי, אֵלֶיךָ, אֵלָיו
אֶל is «to, toward» a person: coming, writing, phoning, turning to someone. With pronouns it takes exactly the endings of עַל: אֵלַי «to me», אֵלֶיךָ «to you» (m.), אֵלַיִךְ (f.), אֵלָיו «to him», אֵלֶיהָ «to her», אֵלֵינוּ «to us», אֲלֵיכֶם «to you» (pl.), אֲלֵיהֶם «to them».
Keep it apart from לִי. לִי is «to me» as the receiver: נָתַן לִי «he gave me», אָמַר לִי «he told me». אֵלַי is «to me» as a direction: בָּא אֵלַי «he came to me», כָּתַב אֵלַי «he wrote to me», טִלְפֵּן אֵלַי «he phoned me». The verbs with אֶל: בָּא, הוֹלֵךְ, כּוֹתֵב, מְטַלְפֵּן, פּוֹנֶה, שׁוֹלֵחַ.

- How do you say «she phoned me» in Hebrew?
- הִיא טִלְפְּנָה אֵלַי (elai). Phoning is a direction toward someone, so אֶל, not לִי.
- What is the difference between לִי and אֵלַי?
- לִי is the receiver: נָתַן לִי «he gave me». אֵלַי is the direction: בָּא אֵלַי «he came to me».
- How do you say «come to us»?
- בּוֹאוּ אֵלֵינוּ (elenu). אֶצְלֵנוּ means being at our place, not coming to it.
